Delicious Dhabedar Dal Tadka Recipe:

Ingredients you need:

  • 1 cup yellow lentils (toor dal)
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, finely chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, optional
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium-sized tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 spoonful of Bazaar Rooh Dal Tadka Readymade Masala (according to taste)
  • Salt to taste (Tadka also have some salt so add carefully)
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions to make Dhabedar Dal Tadka :

  1. Boil Dal:
    • Wash toor dal thoroughly and soak it for atlest 30min with pinch of salt and then Boil it in Cooker or Open Pot with 3 cups of water for 2-3 whistles or until the dal becomes soft and mushy and Set aside.
  2. Roast Ginger, Garlic, and Green Chili:
    • In a separate pan, heat 1 teaspoon of oil on medium heat.
    • Add the finely chopped ginger, minced garlic, and green chili to the pan.
    • Sauté for a couple of minutes until golden brown slightly.
  3. Add Chopped Onion:
    • Now, add the finely chopped onion to the pan.
    • Cook the onions until they turn golden brown on low flame.
  4. Add Chopped Tomato:
    • Add the finely chopped tomato to the pan with a pinch of salt.
    • Sauté until the tomatoes become soft (mesh it with a wide spoon like bharta/kachumbar)
  5. Add Bazaar Rooh Dal Tadka Readymade Masala:
    • Once the tomatoes are well-cooked and release oil, add the Bazaar Rooh Dal Tadka Readymade Masala to the pan (1tbsp for almost 2 portion of Tadka)
    • Stir well and let it cook for 1-2 minutes on low flame (add a lil water if it sticks to pan just 1-2 spoon)
  6. Add Boiled Dal:
    • Carefully transfer the boiled dal to the pan with the tadka (spice mixture).
    • Mix everything thoroughly, ensuring the dal absorbs the flavors of the tadka.
  7. Simmer and Adjust Consistency:
    • Allow the dal tadka to simmer on low flame for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally so it don’t stick at bottom.
    • Cook till it becomes a lil thick or if it is more so you can add a little hot water to achieve your desired consistency.
  8. Check for Seasoning:
    • Taste the dal tadka and adjust the salt and spice level according to, you can add more Dal Tadka if needed.
  9. Garnish and Serve:
    • Once the dal tadka is well-cooked and has a nice consistency, turn off the heat.
    • Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Serve Hot:
